Yesterday an image was posted online that made a lot of people shit bricks. It was what seemed to be a screencap taken from Back to the Future, an image of the DeLorean’s Time Display reading the date 27th June 2012. I reblogged this image happily, without thinking. Later on, I realised that Doc Brown in fact says he is going to go 25 years into the future, which would mean Doc Brown would arrive in 2010 (as the film was made and is set in 1985). Then I realised that for Marty to go back in time, the destination date would have to stay on Nov 5th 1955…meaning that at no point could Jun 27th 2012 have shown up on that display, not even when it was bugging out!! I have added screencaps of yesterday’s image, and images of the film to prove my point. The only date we have to remember from here on out, is OCT 21st 2015!
In short everybody who reblogged the Jun 27th image is an idiot.
